Ingredient Benefits:
-
Peppermint leaf: A very refreshing and cooling herb that helps to relieve indigestion, fullness, abdominal discomfort, and gas. It stimulates the digestive organs by relaxing tension in the body. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, peppermint has been used to move 'stagnant' energy in the liver to stimulate digestion and circulation.
- Lemongrass: Used in Ayurvedic medicine to improve digestive problems, poor circulation, and nausea (Hodges, 2015). It adds a pleasant aroma and uplifting citrusy taste.
- Licorice root: May help to soothe and protect the digestive tract as well as alleviate cramps and other gastric irritations. In Chinese Medicine, licorice is known to support spleen and stomach Qi and adrenal health.
- Ginger root: This pungent herb enhances the fire in the body that supports healthy digestion as well as immunity. It promotes healthy circulation and healthy inflammatory responses that help alleviate nausea and improve blood circulation. It also warms the stomach lining which can help to improve digestion, bile secretion, and movement of food through the digestive tract to reduce discomforts and irritation.
